The need for a new website has been apparent for a while. Whilst the old design served us well, it required a total rethink to bring us totally up to date.

The new website has been completely redesigned from scratch with many major improvements in the following areas:-

  • The site layout and colour scheme has been completely changed to reflect Q-par's new company logo, and to strengthen our corporate identity and branding. The layout is designed to allow the website content to be the dominant constituent.
  • Many more Products and Product Lines added. There are also new sections for Capabilities, Consultancy and Corporate Information along with a new FAQ section.
  • New Live Search Facility - this will change according to what you are typing! It's easier to try it out to understand the benefits. Also, importantly, the search facility is able to fully index every item on the site, even including words inside documents such as downloadable material like Datasheets or Papers.
  • New Downloads section containing all downloadable PDF's, datasheets, papers, case studies, and general company information. The Downloads section is organised into folders to enable easy browsing.
  • The website is based on the Open Source Plone Content Management System www.plone.org, which means that the site should be easier to keep up to date, all company staff will be able to add new content themselves, thus enabling greater transparency and faster updates to the site.
  • Excellent Accessibility: the site is fully W3C XHTML and AA compliant, meaning that if you have a sight impairment, or if you view this site on a small size screen such as a phone, or PDA, it should still be quite readable.
  • The new website is also designed to work on PDA's or smartphones. Special CSS techniques have been used to design unique 'styles' so that navigation and content is easily read on smaller screens.
