Q-par Develops Novel High Power, 180 Degree, Power Divider

Filed under:
Q-par Angus Limited, a microwave antenna and development company based in Leominster, UK is pleased to announce the launch of a high performance 1.2 to 8 GHz, 180 degree power divider. This is intended for use with high power wideband antennas requiring balanced feeds especially where there are very low squint and channel isolation requirements for dual polar antennas.
Q-par Develops Novel High Power, 180 Degree, Power Divider

1.2 - 8 GHz High Power 3 dB, 180 degree Power Splitter

Dr. Andrew Mackay, Q-par Angus’s Principal Scientist, who has developed this new product comments,

Antenna performance requirements are ever more demanding. This 3 port loss-less device features an all metal construction plus high power 7/16 connectors. It can be used as a high power wideband balun for the design of antennas requiring balanced feeds in order to achieve precision squint-less beam patterns over a wide bandwidth. It may also be used as a component in the output stages of high power wideband amplifiers. To my knowledge this is a novel device.

Technical specifications are given on the press release below.
