New Theoretical Research Findings - Updated

Dr Andrew Mackay recently presented a paper on the theory of optimal Radar Absorbent Materials (RAM) at the ICEAA07 Conference in Italy, September 2007. A version of this paper is now included on our web site. Also, two recent submissions for publication to the IET Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation journal. The first is concerned with fundamental bandwidth performance limits to finite antennas. The second is concerned with the dispersion properties and physical realiseability of negative refractive index materials. This second article has been greatly expanded and updated.

New Research Undertaken

Q-par Angus Ltd is proud to present some new theoretical work in three important research areas:

  1. The design of proveably optimal radar absorbent materials, which achieve maximum possible loss for a given bandwidth,
  2. The theory of finite antennas and their bandwidth performance limits. This includes a benchmark coefficient for establishing the efficiency of any given antenna.
  3. UPDATED and EXPANDED - The theory of negative refractive index materials and their general dispersion properties. This includes a proof that lossless negative refractive index materials cannot exist in the homogeneous limit (scale factor vanishingly small).
