Q-par Angus’ staff are equipped to undertake all levels of microwave and wireless consultancy in fields ranging from analysis of complex antenna systems to detailed studies of industrial processes using radio or microwave techniques.
Q-par Angus Ltd employs a team of highly qualified microwave, electronic and software engineers capable of solving a multitude of problems. The team will discuss the customer’s problem, advise on the best solution, and if appropriate supply the necessary hardware.
Recent studies carried out for the
Ministry of Defence and various major companies have included
investigation and analysis of near field antenna test ranges,
feasibility studies for millimetric links, advising on EMC test
systems, and preparation and installation of software for automatic
test facilities.
Many of the consultancy tasks undertaken by the company have been awarded as a result of research competitions, for example Q-par Angus has recently been awarded a three year research grant from the UK MoD for the study of non-reciprocal screens with battle field applications (stealth).

Radiation Hazards
Surveys and predictions of microwave radiation levels are made, from sources such as microwave communications facilities and mobile or cell phone telephone towers. If required, measurements of radiation levels can be undertaken.

Surveillance and Radar
The company has unrivalled experience in the provision of narrow-band and ultra-broad-band microwave antennas, both static and spinning. Complete radar and surveillance systems operating over multi-octave frequency bands have been supplied to industry and government. The company advises on the optimum combination of antennas to meet the customer’s gain / coverage requirements.

Materials Analysis and Measurement
The company carries out theoretical studies into the microwave properties of single and multi-layer dielectric structures for such purposes as microwave windows, radomes and structural components. The dielectric properties of materials can also be measured.

Distance Measurement
Q-par Angus Ltd has been involved in the design and manufacture of complete miniature radar equipments for navigation and location requirements relating to such diverse applications as trains, cranes and automobiles, at frequencies ranging as high as 94 GHz.

Depth Measurement
Radar technology has been applied to the problem of measuring the depth within containers of corrosive liquids, grain and sewage.

Moisture Content
Q-par Angus has designed and produced equipments for measuring on-line the moisture content of various commercial products, such as soap and caramel.

The company has advised on and supplied equipment for research concerning microwave cooking in the food industry.
